Overview
Interested in learning about how to connect your social media channels to Sideqik? We're here to help! Below, we've provided detailed, step by step instructions to guide you throughout the entire connect process.
Before you get started, please ensure you have the following (please note: this is a requirement on Meta's end):
A Facebook Page (please note: a Facebook profile and a page are two separate entities)
Confirm your Instagram Business/Creator account is connected to a Facebook page (please note: the process to connect your Facebook page is separate from connecting your Facebook profile)
If you need help setting up the assets listed above, please refer to Phase 1 and Phase 2 below. You can jump straight to "Phase 3 - Connect Your Accounts" if you are all set and ready to connect.
PHASE 1 - PREP YOUR FACEBOOK FOR CONNECTION
First things first, you must have a Facebook Page in order to connect your Instagram. This is a requirement on Meta’s end, and there’s no workaround (please note: an account and a page are two separate entities).
Facebook Business Page
Facebook Pages let you grow your business on and off Facebook. Pages come with a suite of free business tools that help you achieve your business goals.
Before you begin
You must have a Facebook profile.
Create a Page (Desktop)
To create a Page for your business using your desktop computer:
Open your Facebook profile.
At the top of the homepage, select Create and choose Page.
Name your Page.
Add a category to describe your Page.
Enter business information, such as address and contact information.
Select Continue
You can add a profile photo to your Page. If you add a photo, select Next. To complete this step later, select Skip.
You can add a cover photo to your Page. If you add a photo, select Next. To complete this step later, select Skip.
When you have completed the steps, select Next to go to your new Page.
Create a Page (Mobile)
To create a Page for your business using your mobile device:
Open your Newsfeed.
Tap the Pages icon.
If this tab isn't available, you can tab the menu icon and select Pages.
Tap + Create.
Tap Get Started.
Add a name and up to three categories to describe your Page and tap Next.
You can add an address to your Page to make it easier for people to find your business, or tap I don’t want to add an address. Tap Next. To complete this step later, tap Skip.
You can add a profile and cover photo to your Page. Tap Done.
You should now have completed creating your Page. Learn how to grow your Page audience and engagement.
PHASE 2 - PREP YOUR INSTAGRAM FOR CONNECTION
Open Instagram and go to your settings. You will have a Business OR Creator tab if you have one set up properly
To create a Business or Creator account, simply open your Instagram Settings, click into Account, Switch to Professional Account, and follow the remaining steps https://help.instagram.com/502981923235522?helpref=faq_content
Step 2: Confirm your Instagram Business/Creator account is connected to a Facebook page
Navigate to your Instagram profile in the Instagram app
Click Edit Profile
Click Page
Here you will either see a Facebook page linked or you will have the option to follow the steps in creating or connecting a Facebook page
Once a Facebook page is successfully connected, your Instagram should look like this when you click Page:
PHASE 3 - CONNECT YOUR ACCOUNTS
Now that we have all the prerequisites out of the way, follow the link shared by the brand you are partnering with to connect your accounts!
Select the ‘connect’ button under the platform’s icon, scroll to the bottom, and click ‘Got it. Let’s go!’
Note: Because Instagram is under Facebook, when you click Connect for Instagram, it will take you to a Facebook window. This is correct.
From there, follow the steps to connect:
Log in to your Facebook account and select which Business/Creator profile you wish to connect
Select the specific Facebook page tied to your Instagram
'What is Sideqik Allowed to Do'. You must keep all preferences selected or you will not successfully connect.
You will then be redirected back to the Sideqik landing page. Select the ‘finish’ button!
